October is National Pork Month, and at The Machine Shed we think that’s a pretty big deal! Here at the Shed Blog we will be featuring the unique stories of four Midwest farm families to teach you more about where your pork comes from and to showcase different methods of raising pigs. In the restaurants we will have weekly pork features, visit your location’s page to see the menu! Check back throughout October for pork recipes, facts, prizes and much, much more!
Thanks to our friends at the Pork Producers we have 10 Pork Month gift baskets to giveaway!! To enter, respond to this post with your favorite pork dish. Good Luck, winners chosen October 30, 2015!
My favorite Pork recipe is Glazed Ham Balls! oh how delicious! Esp served with cheesy tators or Dutch Mess!!!
We Love all Pork tho, esp grilled topped with different sauces of fruit or bbq. And a good baked Butte Ham is so delicious too as is Bacon, and this time of year is almost daily meal of BLT’S with home grown tomatoes!
We do love Pork on our Fork!!!!!!!
Ham balls in a brown sugar glaze or good old grilled Iowa chops.
Oh, my! Just one favorite pork dish?? How is that even possible? BLT’s, pulled pork sandwiches, pork fajitas, you name it-I eat it! But if I have to go with just one, then right now I will pick a grilled pork chop with all the trimmings!
I like pork carnitas.
I love cheesy ham with scalloped potatoes.
My favorite pork dish is the one I’ve been eating since I was a child… fried pork chops with a light crisp breading, fried in a cast iron skillet. My grandmother, mother and aunts all made them the same way and now, so do I.
Pulled pork made with a dry rub using brown sugar, marinated with a vinegar marinade throughout the cooking time, and a homemade BBQ sauce that’s spicy and sweet.
Wait … I’m getting hungry! 🙂
