  1. It is key to know when the proper time to plant is. So, we made a helpful chart below with some of our favorite things to grow and when the best time of year is to plant them.

2. The quality of your soil matters more than fertilizer. The best soil is very crumbly and takes in good amounts of water.

3. Plants usually grow the best with watering more heavily once a week rather than lightly every day. If you do water once a week, it should be roughly 1 to 2 inches. (Make sure to factor in rainfall so you don’t over water!)

4. Harvesting is crucial because picking a crop too early or too late can cause the plant to lose its strength. Below is a chart with some common crops and their average wait time once planted in the soil until you should harvest.
